As the isiNene protected the “front” of an Warrior, so did the Beshu protect the backside. Made of heavy animal hide, they were attached to the waist and worn extending from the backside of the warrior. Made to “hang” lower than the isiNene, they were traditionally made from Leopard skin. Younger Warriors were known to wear Beshu that were longer than a more experienced fighter.
