Created in 1511, The Westminster Tournament Roll is a 60-foot long illuminated Roll (consisting of 36 pages), from the late Middle Ages. It was commissioned by English King Henry VIII in honor of the birth of His Son, Prince Henry. The King was an ardent Sportsman and loved The Tournament. As such , in February of 1511 – He commenced with a Royal Tournament. All facets of the spectacle was ''recorded'' on The Roll. King Henry Himself was a participant, and He is shown as well in ''Combat'' during a Joust. The Roll is an excellent source of what ''Life'' in The Tudor Court looked like.
