The Thuong was The Vietnamese Spear. Their distinctive design was taken from numerous Chinese examples. A common battlefield weapon beginning in the 12th Century AD, Spear Heads were made of angled Bronze, with a double edged blade. Tips were often decorated. Shafts ranged from Short Spears being 4-feet in length with Long Versions (Ranged) at 5 to 6-feet. Many examples would survive as Guard and Ceremonial examples well into the early 20th Century.
