Basically forearm guards, they were seen in the 13th/14th Centuries. They were designed to be held in place with straps. They ran the length of the forearm to the wrist. Made of steel or iron, Vambrace's were often designed with extravagant floral or related designs. They could also be constructed out of hard buff leather. They did not interfere with the wearers mobility.
