From Ancient Egypt, The ''Ushabti'' are ''Grave Goods'' often buried with a Pharaoh or Noble Person. There use dates to 2,600 BC. Ushabti are made of clay, stone and even previous metals or polished glass. They resemble a ''small person'' for a reason. The Ushabti you see were used as ''Servants'' in The Afterlife for a Pharaoh or related. They would perform the ''daily and menial tasks needed''. Ushabti were portrayed carrying Hoes and Baskets and were intended to farm in The Afterlife. Often, many hundreds of such Ushabti Figures were buried inside a Royal Tomb. Normally, they ranged from 6-inches to 1-foot in some cases. Great detail was put into their creation, often given realistic features and brightly painted.
