Seen as a Trench Warfare weapons (for use in enclosed areas and close quarters), The Mark 3 used explosive under pressure as opposed to fragmentation. Constructed of a heavy cardboard body, The Mark 3 was made water-resistant and given metal tops and bottoms. A raised and thread assembly was incorporated for the ignition/detonation system. The device contained 7 ounces of TNT. The weapon had a 4 to 5 second delay.
