US Mark V Special Operations Craft

The Mark V Watercraft is a type of Vessel used by The US Navy for Special Water Operations – in particular The US Navy SEALs (Sea, Air and Land). Their need for a lightweight, durable and powerful Small Watercraft found The Mark V developed for their usage by The VT Halter Marine Craft Company. It was first introduced for deployment in 1995 and is still in active inventory. Weighing 57-tons displaced, The Mark V is 82-feet in length with an 18-foot Beam. It is constructed of a reinforced aluminum composite, which adds to it's overall ''lightness'' and control. They ate powered by (2) MTU Engines, each capable of over 2,200-HP. Speed is rated at 65-mph. The Mark V has an operational range of 500-miles. They can support a standard Insertion Team (8) plus (4) Special Boat Operators. Armament is (2) 7.62mm Machine Guns and (2) .50 Caliber HB Machine Guns. They can also support 40mm Grenade Launchers and other small arms packages. The Mark V is also used as a Drone deployment platform. They can also be configured to support a variety of Medium to Heavy equipment vehicles and related spare parts. In addition to their obvious Special Operations role, The Mark V is also used for Coastal Patrol duties Overseas. Several Allied Foreign Governments have also purchased The Mark V for such duties.
