US Kaman HH-43 ''Huskie'' Helicopter

The US Kaman HH-43 ''Huskie'' Helicopter was deployed by The US Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. between 1953 and 1970. It was used primarily as an airborne Firefighting platform from Aircraft Carriers and later as a Rescue and Recovery Craft. Over 185 were used. The ''Huskie'' was used in the early years of The Vietnam War (1965) off The Coast of South Vietnam. Crewing (4), The HH-43 was 25-feet long and featured a Twin Rotor with a 50-foot radius. They were powered by a Single Lycoming Turboshaft Engine which produced 870-HP. They could achieve an airspeed of 120-mph with an operational ceiling of 25,000-feet. Mission range was roughly 185-miles.
