US BLU-80 ''Bugeye'' Chemical Munition

A massive US Military Chemical Weapons Munition, The BLU-80 ''Bugeye'' was designed to deploy Nerve Agents. Developed by The US Army Chemical Corps. The ''Bigeye'' Program began in 1950 and would continue until the 1990s. The Program was a ''sharp point'' in talks with The Soviet Union, who wanted The Munition destroyed along with key Nuclear Arms. BLU-80 weighed 600-lbs. They were 7-feet long with a diameter of 14-inches. A Glide Bomb, it was capable of being deployed by both Fighter and Strategic Bomber. The Class was destroyed per Treaty.
