The AGM-64 was a short lived Anti-Tank (Armor) Missile, first prototypes in 1963. It was seen as being one of the more heavier Rockets that could completely destroy an Enemy Tank system. Using laser guidance, the aptly named ''Hornet'' proved well in testing. Having an effective range of over 3-miles, The AGM-64 however proved to be too similar to the comparable ''Maverick'' Missile (which could be deployed on land and from an aerial platform). Despite (10) prototypes being ''fielded'' The ''Hornet'' Program was discontinued around 1971.
