Identified as one of the "Best Knights who ever lived", from a Period source - Sir William Marshal was a soldier and Statesman. He served 4 English Kings and was titles as "Marshal". He was responsible for the King's Security. His life as a Knight Errant was the stuff of Medieval legend. He was said to be the only man ever to unhorse King Richard I. Sir William had always wanted to become a Templar Knight (but never had the opportunity). He was invested as a Templar on his deathbed. What is known of his blade, was that it was plain and simple. A basic and common Straight Sword, it would have been around 33 to 35 inches long and double-edged. Sir William is buried at Temple Church in England. His blade was buried with him.
