''The Brus'' is a Historic Epic Poem written in 1375 AD by Scottish Poet John Barbour. It's Title is related to Ruler Robert I (Bruce) as spelled and spoken in Scottish Gaelic. The Saga tells of Robert I and His War against England – known as The Scottish Wars of Independence. It further relates to The Peace Treaty of 1338 and the establishment of a Scottish Royal Monarchy (until Unification with England in 1707). although mostly a written tome with few illustrations, The Brus serves as an excellent contemporary source into Medieval Scotland and of of it's Military abilities in the 14th Century.
