Seen in limited manufacture in Mexico, The Scorpion was a close quarters fighting knife. Varying in size from 8 to 15-inches long, the blade featured a wave pattern cut into the blade length. The pattering allowed the blade to pierce through an enemies rib cage more effectively and also allowed from removal without difficulty. The blade was made double-edged. Another unusual feature of The Scorpion, was that the had guard component of the blade's rear was flaired so as to protect the top of the users hand. The handle (small and made of wood), was actually extended some 2 to 3 inches from the top of the blade/wrist protector. A drawback to The Scorpion was the time it took to sharpen both sides to the required sharpness.
