General John Schuyler had served with The British (and later French), during the American French-Indian Wars. The Father-In-Law of American patriot Alexander Hamilton, Schuyler joined Patriot Forces and was placed in charge of the defenses of New York (against The British). Poor planing ans supplies caused him to have to evacuate and retreat from them (for which he was charged a traitor by The Continental Congress!). The charges were later recanted. Schuyler had his own personal colors made for his command. They featured the popular 13 Red and White Stripes on the Field. The upper left Canton was a Blue Field with an Eagle centered.
