The Scara were a form of Light Cavalry formed during The Carolingian Imperial Era (Franks), in the 7th Century AD. Meaning ''Group'', The Scara performed not only basic Cavalry duties, but may also served as a form of early Dragoon (Mounted Infantry). As such, they carried lighter weapons that traditional Warriors of their Era.

Armor was lacking in The Scara, who relied on speed. Shields and Helmets (Conicals and early Nasals) – were used. The Sword and Spear were the weapons of choice. It is thought that They were Elite, coming from Noble Families. Some Historical documentation have The Scara as a form of Bodyguard possibly used by Emperor Charlemagne.
