Created in Imperial Russia by Peter “”The Great” (on occasion of his marriage to Catherine I in 1714), The Order was exclusively for award to Noble Women. Giving on the yearly Anniversary of The Empress' “Naming Day” - traditionally she was the Grand Mistress of The Order. Having “died out” in 1928 (through Political turmoil), it was revived and can still be awarded. There are 2 Classes of the Award. Grand Cross and Lesser Cross. Both are Titled as “Dame”. The insignia/badge of The Order is a Silver and Diamond “Sunburst” with a Red and White Center Seal of Catherine I. The Ribbon is Red.
