The ''Round Tower of Andernach'' is located in Andernach, Germany. Dating to the mid-15th Century, it is a stone ''Round'' Defensive Tower which features an enclosed Top. The fortified Tower is 180-feet tall and served a Garrison of 50 Soldiers and at one point, was Moated for additional defense. The Round Tower was never designed for Devices (Artillery). During The Nine Years War (1690s), French Forces attempted to destroy The Round Tower. It suffered severe damage, but did not collapse. Renovated in the 1880s, it would serve as a Hostel. During World War II, allied Bombs damaged The Tower, but again, it was repaired. It currently is a Museum.
