Seen in the 18th and 19th Centuries, The Quing Helmet was characterized by it's highly elaborate decorating. Made of steel composite, it was a semi-conical shaped protective device. Featuring a type of Front Brim over the front, The Qing featured a thick quilted Base Skirt attached to the bottom of the helmet. This Skirt extended around the entirety of the helmet bottom and was designed to protect the sides of the head neck and to some degree – the upper shoulders. Used among Palace Guards and among the Emperor's Officer ranks, it was used more for ceremonial uses than combat. It seldom saw use after the beginning of the early 20th Century.
