Preston Tower is located in Preston, Northumberland, England. A ''Pele Tower'' Class of Defensive Structure, it was constructed around 1362 AD. Part Fortified Manor House and Defensive Structure, Preston Tower is nearly 135-feet in height. A ''minature'' Castle in some respects, it has Twin Squared Towers connecting to a smaller central Base Tower. Built as a Defensive- Watch Tower during The Scottish Wars of Independence (King Edward I), it was never attacked, but did Garrison English Troops. It was also used during The English Civil War of the 17th Century – in the same manner (changing hands in that Conflict several times).
