First seen in the 9th Century, it was said that early Slavic migrations of people were to lead to what would become Poland, when they crossed The Odra River and saw a White Eagle in the sky. It was this bird that led them to their homeland. The colors of this first Banner were said to be Red with a White Eagle stretching from side to side. This color scheme and symbolism would be reflective of Poland and it's Monarchy for centuries.
