This Award was reserved for Roman Naval "soldiers" and Commanders. It's surmounting spikes were shaped into ship prows. It was award to the first soldier who boarded an enemy ship during combat on the seas. Rome's Navy was considered a "secondary" force to her armies. It is unclear how many Naval Crowns were awarded.
