These Straight Swords were favored as infantry-type weapons for The Mongol Empire. Seen later in their Imperial history (12th and 14th Centuries). More ornate than their cavalry versions, they were only slightly curved. They too were single edged (and were not waved). Ranging in length from 35 to 43-inches long, they were normally carried in a scabbard and worn similarly to a European Hanger Sword. These swords featured a very small cross bar and a thicker more robust handle (for better control). They weighed around 3 pounds.
