A Label is a Line (set on a Shield). It normally placed over another Charge. It has a number of smaller bar extensions coming down from it. This symbolizes the line of Royal or Noble Heirs. Each bar symbolizes a Son (with the highest ranking on the farthest left side). Females are identified with a Silver Label (often placed on the lower portion of The Shield). The Label is a common feature with Royal Coats of Arms.
