While seen in various Christian Symbolism with regards to Heraldry (14th Century), The simple Human Hand was used quite regularly to convey “Faith” and “Justice”. The image was most commonly portrayed “open” often facing The Viewer. Appearing as if making a “pledge”, The Hand image was common with certain Noble Houses (especially those relating to Knighthood). Generally, tincture was natural in color, although some examples seen were of various other hues.
