Having many difference meanings depending on The Country, the more stylized version of the portrayal of the Human Heart is likewise very Ancient (dating to Rome). This image would become to represent the standard visula used by most Countries throughout The World around the 18th Century forward. Seen as well in The Middle Ages (although the imaging of an “actual “Heart” organ was preferred), it was meant to portray “Sincerity” and also “Honesty”. It was a very common Heraldic image with Nobility in France, England and Spain. Tincture (Coloring) was traditionally Red, but “Black” and various other colors were use (each to portray a particular trait).
