Founded in Germany around 1444, The Order was also identified as The Order of The Hunting Horn. They were a secularized Order of Nobility. Their insignia was a Hunting Horn attached with a White Cross. It is thought that they were more of a “Fraternal Order”, with award of the Title given by a Grand Master and NOT a Monarch. In the 18th Century, the insignia was changed to a White Cross placed over a Silver Bursting Sun.
