The German Air Force of World War II (designated "The Luftwaffe"), used a similar type Color to identify it's various Squadrons and United types. All bore a standard motif, but where separated by different color schemes to differentiate each. Using a Tricolor design, normally horizontal Stripes were used, with Black being the common color for Upper and Lower Stripes. The Center Stripe was of a different color (depending). Pink, Blue, Orange etc. were all used.
A Silver or White Eagle was superimposed in the colored Center Stripe, clutching The NSDAP Swastika. Flag designs could be non-split Guidon or full Flag  (3x3, 4x4 and 5x5). Displayed was normally from Command vehicles or Standard Headquarters Flag. Color variations were quite common late in The War.
