Simple in it's manufacture and design, The Model 1767 French Hanger was a broad bladed , single-edged weapon. The blade measured 35-inches. Weighing in at 4-pounds, The Grenadier Hanger (so named for it's fondness of use by French Grenadiers) – had a simple Brass “D”-Guard Hilt. Often carried in simple wooded scabbards (leather covered), this Model of Sword would become very popular with Colonial American Officers in Militias and eventually The Continental Army.
