The Burgundian Peoples incorporated their Kingdom around the 3rd Century AD. As an eventual Province of Francia (France) after Charlemagne's Kingdom was partitioned (7th Century AD), The Kingdom devised their own Standard (early Middle Ages). The Flag was used by Burgundian Medieval Armies throughout the early Crusades and The Hundred Year War.

Using vertical lines of alternating Blue and Yellow, each Blue Stripe contained The French symbol of The Fleur de Lys (also in Yellow). After The Burgundian Wars (1474-1477), the independent Kingdom ceased. Today it falls within The French Dijon Administrative Province.
