Designed by Italian Fascist Leader Benito Mussolini, The Socialist Flag of Italy was based in part on the Italian National Flag. A Tricolor, it featured 3 vertical Stripes - Green, White and Red. Centered in the White Stripe, was a Dark Gray Eagle, standing on a Roman Fasces. Mussolini envisioned a "rebirth" of The Roman Empire, with he as it's "Emperor". The Socialist Flag flew from 1943 to 1945 (with the eventual death of Mussolini, and his "Black Shirt" Party.
