The typical Ancient Egyptian Knife or Dagger, was seen in all 3 Dynastic Kingdom Kingdoms. Made of cast bronze, they were double-edged, with a raised edge that ran the length of the blades body. The rear blade body was wider (for support), and tapered forward to a more slender point. Handles were shaped to fit the hand, and had a curved Pommel. Blades were varied, but most versions were around 8 to 12-inches in length. Handles were often highly decorated and embellished. Dagger and knifes were carried in scabbards (made of hollow wood covered in a copper sheathing). They were worn (affixed) to a belt. Not a standard component item of the typical Egyptian soldier, they were more carried by persons of Rank.
