A renovated Casemate Ironclad of The Confederate States Navy, The CSS "Atlanta" was once the commandeered Scottish Privateer "Fingal". Launched in 1861, "Atlanta" was 700-tons and 204-feet long. She sat 41 feet tall. Using twin steam engines with 1 boiler, she could make a respectable 14-knots.  "Atlanta" crewed 145 men. Her armament was twin 6.4-inch Brooke Guns. "Atlanta" was also fitted with a Spar forward mounted Torpedo (80-pounds). She featured multiple iron plating, with 4-inches on her Pilothouse, 2-inches on her Decks and finally 4-inches on her Casemate structure. Captured by Union Forces in 1863 as assigned to The James River Squadron, The US Navy retained her name, now "USS Atlanta". After The War (as were many Ironclads), she was sold. She was list in a tropical storm in 1869, with the loss of her entire crew.
