Another Barding Horse Armor component, The Croupiere was the largest piece of Warhorse Armor made. Designed of multiple joined pieces of Plate Armor, it was designed to cover the Horses hind quarters and rear flank. Often constructed in a “winged” or sweeping pattern, they were often very embellished. Due to weight concerns, a Caparison blanket was used to protect the animal. First seen around the 14th Century, they would quickly be modified  (made smaller), to assist in mobility.
