Designed at the Succession of North Carolina from The United States at the beginning of The American Civil War (1861-1865), the State Battle Flag reflected the Colors of the newly created Confederate States. It bore the Motto referencing North Carolina's admittance to The United States and it's “departure” in 1861. This standard was carried by all North Carolina Units during the War.
