Another “Personal Color” seen in The Confederate States Army during The American Civil War (1861-65), Major-General John McCown (Texas), was of Scottish descent. When he raised several Armies for The Confederate Army of The West, he designed and incorporated a Flag (1862), based of The Scottish St. Andrews Cross. All Blue in Field construction, the Cross of White. McCown's personal Flag had Red Borders placed on all 4 corners (while the rest did not).
