The unique ''Jeff Davis'' Flag was said to have been carried by several State of Arkansas Units that fought for The Confederate States of America, during The Civil War of 1861-1865. The Flag was based on The Southern 1st National Flag of 1861-1862 (which was considered the only officially created National Color for that short lived Government). However, rather than the Stars in The Upper Left Canton (which represented each Confederate State), being arranged properly (Circular Pattern), The White stars were arranged in a rather haphazard pattern. (12) such stars were present. The Two Red Stripes, which flanked a single White Stripe – shown on The Field of The Flag, bore the name ''JEFF DAVIS'' (possibly stitched or painted). This was in reference to Jefferson Davis, first and only President of The American Confederacy. The Flag was seen at The Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas (1864).
