The 54th Georgia Infantry regiment was formed in 1862 to support The American Confederacy during The American Civil War (1861-1865). Originally numbering 600 Officers and Men, they fought mostly in The South and were present during The Siege of The City of Atlanta (Georgia, 1864). They also some service in Tennessee. The Regiment saw so many casualties by the end of The War in 1865, that only (20) were accounted for. Their Battle Standard was based on The ''Hardee Flags'' (popular with some Georgia and Texas Infantry Units). The 54th Regiment used a Light Sky Blue color for The Field. Centered, was a White Circle into which was printed ''54th'' with the wording beneath of ''GA. VOL.'' (for ''Georgia Volunteers''). The perimeter of The Standard, to include The Hoist was a White Border
