One of the oldest forms of Heraldry Symbolism, The Castle image can be found as early as the 10th Century. Normally an "Attribute", it symbolized "Foundation", "Power" and "Kingdom". Tincture was normally realistic, but examples are shown on various other colors. Many Kingdoms and Nations would use the Castle as their symbol. It could also be used as a means of conveying that a Knight or Noble Family had participated in a Siege.
