Canvas Master (Position)

Responsible for the all important sails of a ship, The Canvas Master made sure repairs were made to ship sails and that replacements were procured. Canvas Masters and their assistants (often other crewmen), sewed tears and rips with Awls. Normally, sails were so damaged and old, that the position required constant repairs.
