The British ''Type 45'' (also known as The ''Daring'' – Class), is a current serving Destroyer Warship with The Royal Navy. Only (6) were built, with deployment beginning in 2008. A Guided Missile Destroyer, The ''Type 45'' displaces 10,000-tons. They are 500-feet in length with a Beam of 97-feet. Power is provided by (2) Rolls-Royce WR-21 Gas Turbines and Twin Wartsila Diesels, supported by Twin GE Induction Motors. A total of 27,000-HP can be produced. Speed rated at 32-mph, The ''Type 45'' is crewed by 191 Officers and Men. The Warship uses Kevlar Absorbing Plates throughout. Armament is varied with ''Sea Viper'' Missiles, Aster 15 and 30 Missiles and a collection of Anti-Ship and Submarine Missile Systems. The ''Type 45'' can also support several Observation and Rescue Helos, stored below Decks in specially constructed ''Hangers''.
