The ''Seaslug'' was a long serving British Surface to Air Missile deployed with The Royal Navy during The Cold War. It saw active combat service as well, during The Falkland Islands War of 1982. (2) Versions were produced. A solid fuel Missile, ''Seaslug'' was 15-feet long with a diameter of 3-feet. They were launched from Surface Vessels (Destroyer Class) using a Rail and Sled System. Operational range (high-altitude) was 35,000-yards and they could reach over 1,300-mph. Guidance was maintained by Radar Line of Line Control. Kill probabilities were rated at 75%. A Nuclear version was planned but was never realized. The ''Seaslug'' was decommissioned in 1965, with many being sold to The Brazilian Navy.
