This Medium Howitzer was produced by Great Britain during World War I (and was reliable enough to be continued into 1945). The Medium Howitzer was also a major export to foreign Armies. Designed by The Vickers Armament Company, The Medium Howitzer weighed over 8,000 pounds. It featured a 8 foot barrel. Crewed by 10 men, The Medium Howitzer was capable of both high explosive and chemical round dispersal. AN average shell weighed about 100 pounds. The maximum effective range varied (according to shell type) of between 9,500 to 11,000 yards.
