A popular Field piece used by 19th Century British Forces  the 1796 3-Pound Cannon was popular for it's lightness (400 pounds) and easily handled Round. Capable of firing Solid and Canister Shot up to 1,300 yards, The were ideal for smaller wooden fortifications (as breeching weapons). Many weer later incorporated into the newly formed US Army. They were still used as late as The War of 1812 in America).
