Although many are familiar with the Enfield series of Military Rifles, they also designed a handgun. The Enfield Revolver was a .476 round handgun first manufactured in 1880. Although issued to The British Army, The Enfield Revolver was issued and used more by British Colonial Forces and MANY Law Enforcement Agencies (The Northwest Canadian Mounted Police – among the first). The Enfield Revolver was a Double-Action weapon that have ranges from 25 to 200 yards. With reloading (and a competent Shooter) – 18-rounds per minute (from a 6-round Chamber), was considered “normal”. The weapon was retired from service before World War I (1911).
