Another “Ship Boarding” weapon, The Boarding Pike was based on the standard infantry Pole Arms seen throughout Medieval Europe. A 8 to 12-inch long double-edged Spear point, it also featured a small metal hook extension (for snatching and pulling). The head was mounted on a 8 to 10 foot pole (Oak or Pine Hardwood). The Boarding Pike could be used as a Spear (thrusting) or a Quarterstaff (impact). Next to The Boarding Axe, The Pike was a very popular weapon in many Navies.
