''Baig'' was a form of Title seen originally in usage in The Middle East – beginning in the 16th Century AD. It was both a Civilian and Military Title. It is translated to mean ''Chief'' and ''Chief Commander''. The term Baig would eventually evolve into ''Bey'' – and used extensively in The Ottoman Empire. Some Middle Eastern Countries and Kingdoms used Baig as a term for ''Lord'' – much as it would be used in Europe among Nobles.
