Rarely seen in Heraldry, The Alphyn resembles a Tiger – but is MUCH more stockier. He is covered in thick fur, with large “tuffs” of it's fur extended. Featuring a long tail (knotted), it has the forearms of an Eagle (or related Raptor). They are also portrayed with cloven Hooves. They are seen in Welsh Coats of Arms and are sometime used to convey “Determination”.
