The Battle of Sagrajas (Portugal), was fought today. Part of The Reconquista Period, some 2,500 Knights and Men-at-Arms under Castilian and Argon leadership – were destroyed by Almoravid (Moorish) Muslims. The Moor Army was speculated at being around 10,000. The Castilian-Argon force foolishly split their forces. All but 520 of them survived (out of 2,500).
