Relative to The Ancient Olmec Peoples of Mesoamerica ''Werejaguars'' were seen more as a Supernatural Being (not necessarily relating to a type of Deity). Perhaps conceived by such Creatures procreating with Human Females, ''Werejaguars'' are often linked to Shapeshifters in some Cultures. Some later Mesoamerican Cultures also saw them as responsible for Rainfall and were revered. Much like the European mythos concerning ''Werewolves'', One being bitten by a Werejaguar did not turn one into such a Beast.
