A ''Ve'' was a form of Pagan Shrine used in many Germanic Countries, being cited as old as the 1st Century AD (although they are considered older by some). The word ''Ve'' itself is said to be related to the consecration of such Shrine to The God Thor. Traditionally, a ''Ve'' was made from a cut tree (trunk), prepared by a Pagan Priest (consecrated). The flattened top was used for various sacrifices, rituals etc. Many Historians cite that The Ve Shrine was enclosed by stone, even small Temples as some evidence of this has been found. Many Neo-Pagan Religions still incorporate The ''Ve'' into their rituals, today. No specific tree species is needed, but those examples of The Ve come from trees roughly 15 to 20 years of age (or matured).
